Union Minister for Women & Child Development Maneka Gandhi was admitted to the emergency ward of a hospital in Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.
It was earlier reported that she was admitted due to a breathing problem. However, officials denied reports of the minister facing breathing issues saying that she suffers from a stone problem in the gall bladder and might be airlifted to Delhi.

Gandhi, an MP from Pilibhit, is also an environmentalist and animal rights activist besides being a minister in the Narendra Modi government.
