Finally, the transfer saga of Manchester United's winger Angel Di Maria has come to an end as the Argentine has agreed a four-year deal with French side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
He is yet to undergo a medical and complete the move. He was 'too tired' after a long flight from Argentina to Qatar, reported Independent.co.uk.
A fee of £44m has been agreed by the Red Devils for his transfer to PSG. The Argentine winger was bought by United in the last summer transfer window for a British record-breaking fee of £59.7m.
After his move to United from Real Madrid, he failed to impress the Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal and was benched for most of the second half of the 2014-2015 season of the English Premier League. Although, he did perform in the initial stages of the league last year, he could not carry on with his form for the rest of the season, which denied him of first XI spots.
Di Maria, who was adjudged the Man of the Match of the UEFA Champions League Final of 2014, scored only three goals in 27 appearances for United in the last season. The only thing he could cherish about the last season was his 10 assists, which was second to Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas.
Di Maria was supposed to undergo a medical in Doha on Monday and post that he would have flown to Paris. But he was reportedly tired and the move to PSG was delayed further.
PSG coach Laurent Blanc was eyeing the talented Argentine winger since last year. Di Maria, who did show signs of regaining his form during the Copa America 2015 in Chile, will leave Blanc with plenty of attacking option.
Di Maria will now get to play alongside his national teammates Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi in the French league as well as in the UEFA Champions League.
The transfer of Di Maria has left the United fans fuming and they expressed their discontent in Twitter.
