Both Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly considering an approach for Atletico Madrid winger Alessio Cerci.
The Italy international joined the Rojiblancos from Torino for a fee around £13m in September but has struggled to establish himself at the Vicente Calderon, and is yet to start a match for Diego Simeone's side.
Cerci, who notched 13 goals and 10 assists from 37 Serie A appearances for Torino last season, has been frustrated with the lack of game time at Atletico, and is now understood to be looking at his options for a move away.
According to the Express, Premier League heavyweights United and Arsenal are both ready to offer the 27-year-old an escape route, by tabling an offer for him when the January transfer window opens.
The report claims Atletico have put the Italian up for sale as they look to cut their losses and find a bid close to the £13m they spent on him.
The Gunners have been long-time admirers of Cerci and were strongly linked with a move for the winger in the summer, before the Rojiblancos snapped him up from Torino.
Meanwhile, United defender Luke Shaw is hoping to be fit to feature in his side's trip to north London at the weekend, to face Arsenal at the Emirates in a much-awaited league fixture.
The 19-year-old picked up a knock during England's friendly against Scotland at Celtic Park on Tuesday, and was replaced after 66 minutes. The left-back suffered an injury to his hamstring in the first half itself but was keen to keep on playing, until he was eventually withdrawn by manager Roy Hodgson.
"I picked up a few knocks during the game and my left hamstring, which I hurt at the start of the season, I could feel a little bit," Shaw told Sky Sports. "We had a discussion at half time over whether to bring me off then but it was a game I didn't want to come off in so I played the extra 15 minutes and then Roy decided to sub me off."
When asked if he will be fit to face Arsenal on Saturday, the youngster replied: "We will just have to see but I am hoping to be fit."
Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao and David de Gea are also doubtful for the match, though the latter is now expected to start.
