PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay has reportedly flown to England to hold talks with Manchester United over a potential £25 million switch this summer.
The 21-year-old is being heavily linked with a summer move to Old Trafford, with PSV technical director Marcel Brands confirming that Manchester United have made an official approach.
There were also reports of Liverpool looking to rival United for the signature of Depay this summer, but the Red Devils seem to have stolen a march on the Merseyside club as the Sun claims that Depay has already come to Manchester to discuss the details of his potential move to Old Trafford after the conclusion of this season.
According to the Sun, Depay and his representative Kees Ploegsma, who were in Manchester this week, held talks with the Red Devils over a £130,000-a-week deal.
The Dutchman is also believed to be in talks with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, but former Holland forward Ronald De Boer, currently the assistant manager of Ajax's youth team, has urged Depay to choose Manchester United over the French side.
"I don't want to say which club is more suitable for him, but if he goes to United he knows there is a Dutch coach there who knows him from the World Cup," said De Boer, according to the Express. "That is an advantage."
Meanwhile, Robin van Persie reportedly wants to stay at Old Trafford and lead United's Premier League title charge next season despite him being heavily linked with a move to Turkish side Fenerbahçe this summer.
According to the Sun, the Turkish side are prepared to match van Persie's current salary of £220,000-a-week and sign him on a three-year contract.
But the former Arsenal striker reportedly wants to stay at Old Trafford and help United reclaim the Premier League title next season.
The 31-year-old striker was initially very impressive at Manchester United as he helped United secure their 20th English top flight title, following his £22.5 million switch from Arsenal in the summer of 2012.
However, after Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013, van Persie's form has dipped and there are speculations of van Gaal looking to offload him along with Radamel Falcao this summer.
