Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly looking to provide an escape route to Manchester United's out-of-favour winger Angel Di Maria by making a £45 million bid for the Argentine.
The 26-year-old was expected to be a big hit like Chelsea's Diego Costa and Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez after he moved to Old Trafford from Real Madrid for a British transfer record of £59.7million.
However, despite starting his United career on a positive note, Di Maria has struggled to adapt to the Premier League, and he has not started since his sending off during the Red Devils' defeat to Arsenal in the quarter-final of the FA Cup on 9 March.
There have been suggestions that the winger, who was shaken after an attempted burglary at his house earlier this year, will be making a move from Old Trafford after the end of this season.
But United have insisted that they will not be letting their £59.7million leave after just one season.
Still PSG are reportedly considering a £45million bid for the Argentine this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Ligue 1 giants had tried to sign Di Maria from Real Madrid last summer, but they were unable to do so due to them facing issues with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations last summer.
This summer, however, Paris Saint-Germain, after sorting out their finances, have reportedly again identified Di Maria as their main target.
So it remains to be seen whether Manchester United are willing to give the Argentine another chance or they get tempted to cash in on the flop winger while they can.
Meanwhile, Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is reportedly set to reject offers from Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven and sign a new deal at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old Brazilian, whose current contract with United expires this summer, has been on the radar of a number of clubs after he rejected a new contract from United earlier this season.
However, according to the Daily Mail the youngster has reportedly decided to turn down advances from other clubs and sign a new deal at Old Trafford.
Pereira reportedly had a change of heart due to him believing that he will be given a chance to prove himself in the Red Devils first team by van Gaal, who has already given opportunities to a number of youngsters including Tyler Blackett, Paddy McNair and James Wilson this season.
