The former Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao is on the radar of Italian giants Juventus to shore up their squad for next season.
The Colombian striker is presently plying his trade in the English Premier League for Manchester Unted, but has not been able to showcase his skills at Old Trafford.
A lot was expected from the on-loan Monaco striker after being brought in via a whopping loan deal, with an option of making the move permanent next summer.
But, his performance has not been up to the mark, as he has scored only three goals in 12 appearances, which is not worth the huge sum of money that Manchester United are paying. Apart from the meagre return of goals, the Colombian has been troubled by injuries, which is another grave concern for United.
What should trouble Manchester United more is the fact that the Colombian striker's form has been dipping of late as well with the main reason being injuries.
Last season, he only represented Monaco 20 times.
But prior to being a Monaco player, he was one of the most feared strikers in world football. He scored 52 goals in 68 appearances for Atletico Madrid, while for Porto, he scored 41 from 51 appearances. He has not been able to come close to such goalscoring form in a Manchester United shirt so far.
So, will Manchester United make a permanent move for Falcao?
Juventus are trying to make an offer to buy Falcao. Juventus believes that Falcao will not be staying put at Manchester United, reports the Daily Mirror.
But, Juve definitely do rate the forward very highly as the Italian side had been linked to Falcao prior to his move to Old Trafford. Real Madrid had also been heavily linked then.
It seems that the centre forward does have a liking towards Juventus as was understood by his text to Juventus director, Marotta, when he signed for Manchester United after being close to Juve deal.
He texted, "Thanks for everything. Would have been an honor for me to play for Juve, maybe will happen in the future, '' as per then report of Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport.
So, it may be for the same reason that the Italian giants may not have given up hope on signing the player.
Though, the Colombian forward might have been plagued by injuries, the player can win matches single-handedly. Hence, Falcao might attract interest from other clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, apart from Juventus, if Manchester United decide not to make the loan deal permanent.
