Manalo Okkadu is a thriller drama with a beautiful message to the society. The movie throws light on the ego issues prevalent among media persons and how criminals and politicians misuse them. The film touches upon some real incidents, like Venu Madhav's death rumours, and ends up reminding the media of its responsibilities and roles. RP Patnaik has written the story, besides donning the hats of the film's actor and director.
The story of Manalo Okkadu is about a lecturer (RP Patnaik), who is leading a happy with his wife (Anita Hassanandani). He lands in a problem when he takes a stand against some unacceptable happenings. How he faces the consequences created by politicians and media barons forms the crux of the story.
RP Patnaik has chosen an interesting concept for Manalo Okkadu and woven an engaging screenplay for it. Some comedy scenes and a couple of twists keep the audience engaged and entertained in the first half of the film. An interesting twist before the interval heats up the things and the second half is high on emotional quotient. The climax is good and offers a wonderful message.
RP Patnaik, Anita Hassanandani, Sai Kumar, Nassar, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Tanikella Bharani, Raghu Babu and Jaya Prakash Reddy have delivered good performances, which are the assets of Manalo Okkadu. The film has good production values. The background score and picturisation add to the experience.

Manalo Okadu is a brave take on media and how its urge to stay on top causes problems to the common man. A very interesting first half and intriguing set up are basic assets of this film. But the film falters completely during the second part as the serious issue is diluted by some inexperienced narration. If you are okay with the lack of entertainment and are game to watch a film with some message, you can easily attempt this film this weekend.

Director R P Patnaik made sure he touch most of the topics in which media fails in conveying true news. Over dramatisation of the scenes is the spoiler of the movie. This may be a bold attempt from R P Patnaik but it is not uptp the level where it qualifies as a movie which connects well with the audience. To summarise, Manalo Okadu is a bold attempt pointing the mistakes of media.

#ManaloOkkadu is a 'weak' war against the so called 'ego' of media. RP is good as director for this film but fails as an actor. Sai Kumar and Nasser impresses.
