Mamukkoya, a regular face of Malayalam films, has become the latest victim of social media's death hoax.
A photo of the actor along with the message "Mamukoya passed away in a private hospital in Kozhikode. The actor was under treatment for his kidney for quite some time now" has been doing the rounds on Whatsapp since Thursday afternoon.
Denying the rumours, sources close to the actor have confirmed that he is very much alive.
Many took to social media to check if the rumours about the 69-year-old actor's death news were true.

Mamukkoya, who began his career as a theatre artist began acting in films through the 1979 film "Anyarude Bhoomi".
The first State award winner for Best Comedian in Malayalam cinema is known in the industry for his unique usage of Mappila dialect in films.
He has also received the Kerala State Award for Second Best Actor for his performance in 2004 movie "Perumazhakkalam".
