August Cinemas, one of the most reputed production houses in Mollywood, is busy with the shooting of their new movie Pathinettam Padi. Earlier, the makers had revealed that Mollywood megastar Mammootty will play a pivotal role in this flick.
The makers had also released a character sketch of Mammootty in the movie and revealed that his character's name will be John Abraham Palackal.
As per recent reports, it has been learned that Mammootty's role in this movie will be an extended cameo. However, his character will have a pivotal role in determining the progress of the film's story.
Mammootty joined the shooting sets of 'Pathinettam Padi' on December 26 and is expected to wrap up his portions in another few days. Several close sources to the movie reveal that the megastar will be seen sporting a stylish ponytail in this film.
Shankar Ramakrishnan is directing this movie, and he himself has penned the script too. The director has apparently roped in a group of young newcomers to play the lead roles in this movie. Mammootty's character will reach the lives of these youngsters in a very crucial time, and the involvement of John Abraham Palackal in their crucial time forms the major crux of the movie.
More details regarding 'Pathinettam Padi' will be unveiled in the coming days.
Mammootty is now awaiting the release of his new Tamil movie Peranbu. The film had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on January 27 and received highly positive reviews.
Apart from Mammootty, Peranbu also stars Anjali, Saadhana, Anjali Ameer, Samuthirakani, and Aruldoss in other prominent roles. Music of this movie is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the camera is cranked by Theni Easwar.
The film will have its theatrical release in February 2019.
