After garnering tremendous reponse in the form of trolls and memes for the first-look poster of megastar Mammootty's "Kasaba," the makers of the upcoming action thriller released its second poster on Saturday, June 18.
The second poster of the Malayalam film, released on the Facebook page of Mammootty, also features the megastar in police avatar.
The first-look poster of the movie, featuring Mammootty sitting in front of a police jeep, had invited many trolls on social media. However, calling the trolls as the modern face of satire, the megastar himself shared selected memes through his Facebook page. The movie's director, Nithin Renji Panicker, later said that the viral trolls have helped to promote the Mammootty-starrer. The makers have also announced that the first teaser of the flick will be released soon.
The debut directorial venture of Nithin, is one of the most-anticipated flicks of the year, as the megastar who has shined in the role of a police officer many times before will be seen in a cop avatar after a gap of five years. He plays CI Rajan Zacharia in the movie, which has Neha Saxena and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the female lead roles.
"Kasaba," scripted by Nithin is the production venture of Alice George under the banner of Goodwill Entertainments. Sameer Haq has handled cinematography of the film, for which Rahul Raj has composed the music
The action thriller will hit the theatres in Kerala in July as an Eid release. Meanwhile, Celluloid Japan will also release it in Japan in July. However, it will not be screened with Japanese subtitles unlike Dulquer Salmaan's blockbuster "Charlie," which opened to fabulous response from the Japanese audience.
