Mammootty and Manju Warrier to Pair Up in Joshiy Movie?

Since the news of Manju Warrier's next project with Joshiy was announced by script writer Ranjan Pramod, speculation is rife about who will play the lead opposite Manju. The latest buzz in the industry is that superstar Mammootty has been chosen as the lead for the Joshiy film.

Though there has been no confirmation regarding this, the speculations and some sources in the industry claim the story to be true. New reports of the superstar doing a film with Manju are based on earlier reports of Mammootty's upcoming project with Joshiy, and moreover the director had said that the Mammootty-starrer would be scripted by Ranjan Pramod. Now, with the latest announcement of Ranjan about his upcoming Joshiy film with Manju, the possibilities of a Mammootty – Warrier project are more believable.

Earlier when Manju decided to make her comeback to movies, it was reported that the actress would star in a film with Mammootty. But the actor denied rumours of pairing up with Manju.

Joshiy had earlier directed Mammootty for nearly 30 films including hits like "Nirakoottu", "Nair Saab", "New Delhi", "No. 20 Madras Mail", "Kuttettan", "Dhruvam" and "Sainyam".

Meanwhile, Warrier had previously acted in one Joshiy film, "Pathram" along with Suresh Gopi which was a political drama. The film was known for the controversies surrounding it when leading Malayalam dailies "Malayala Manorama" and "Mathrubhumi" boycotted the film for portraying them in bad light. Eventually, "Pathram" was a huge hit in Malayalam and had a record run of more than 250 days in theatres.

Ranjan has previously associated with Joshiy in the scripting of Mohanlal-starrer "Naran" and the duo had been successful in pulling off the action-entertainer. So, the audience can now await a perfect entertainer from this upcoming movie.

Meanwhile, it is not clear when the team will begin the shooting of the film. Manju is currently busy with her upcoming movie along with Mohanlal which is directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. Meanwhile, Joshiy is busy with the post-production stage of Mohanlal – Amala Paul-starrer "Lailaa Oo Lailaa" which is set for a New-Year release.
