Latest report suggests that it was Mammootty who suggested Huma's name for the film.
"I was blown away when Mammootty asked me to approach Huma for the role. He has a keen sense of observation and knows about every actor in the country, be it even a serial actor who has done just a 10-minute role," said Uday Ananthan, according to The Times of India.
"White" has been co-written by Nandini Valsan and Praveen Balakrishnan, while the film's music will be composed by Rahul Raj.
Earlier, Huma had rejected the offers to star opposite Tamil superstars Vijay and Suriya and it is said that the actress gave her nod for the film as she liked the script of the Mammootty starrer.
