While the makers of "Dangal" starring Aamir Khan have finally zeroed in the actor's on-screen daughters (to be essayed by Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra), the hunt for Aamir's on-screen wife is still on.
Now, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Mallika Sherawat has recently auditioned for the role.
The "Murder" actress turned up for auditioning, dressed in simple attire sans make-up, making her almost unrecognisable.
"She had no make-up and rattled off the pages of dialogue she knew by heart in shudh Haryanvi. The Jat accent that might stump other actresses, comes naturally to her since she's from the state," a source told the daily.
Further, the makers are still looking for younger versions of the on-screen daughters before they finalise the wife for the "Dhoom 3" star.
"The makers want to cast the four girls first (they are still scouting for younger versions of Fatima and Sanya to play Geeta and Babita when they are around 10-12 years old and started going for wrestling competitions) before they decide on the mother since they have a great resemblance to her," added the source.
It now remains to be seen if the "Dirty Politics" actress manages to bag the role opposite Mr.Perfectionist.
Meanwhile, Aamir has been working hard to get into the skin of the character.
"Dangal", directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is based on the life of famous wrestler Mahavir Phogat, the father of wrestlers Geeta and Babita Kumari Phogat.
The "PK" star will be essaying the role of Mahavir and will be seen in three different stages of his life. The 49-year-old actor will play a 19-year-old teenager and a 27-year-old, but a major portion of the film will see him as a 55-year-old man.
