Fahadh - Nazriya
Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim wedding was probably the most celebrated wedding of Malayalam cinema. Media and fans went into a frenzy when they got to know about it.
Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim got married on 21 August. The traditional 'nikah' ceremony was held at Al-Saj Convention Centre in Kazhakuttam, Thiruvananthapuram. The wedding was attended by many, including South Indian film stars, politicians and others.
The couple also had a grand reception hosted by Fahadh's family and friends on 24 August in Alapuzha.
Padmapriya – Jasmine Shah
Popular South Indian actress Padmapriya married her long time boyfriend Jasmine Shah on 12 November. The wedding was held in Mumbai where close friends and family members were present. The actress met Jasmine while she was pursuing her higher studies in New York.
Jasmine, who hails from Gujarat, is currently working as the Associate Director of Policy at Jameel Poverty Action Lab, South Asia, a research centre of the economics department of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, at their New Delhi office.
Padmapriya had taken a break from movies to pursue her studies and was doing research on economic affairs of public sectors, in New York. The couple met during their research days and fell in love.
Amal Paul – AL Vijay
Actress Amala Paul and ace filmmaker AL Vijay had a dream wedding, which was a star-studded event. The couple shared their wedding vows on 12 June in Chennai. The wedding took place in traditional 'Chettiyar' style in the presence of the couple's family and friends. The reception, which took place later on the day after the wedding ritual, was attended by many stars.
The couple's engagement took place on 7 June at the St. Jude church, according to Christian customs in Aluva, Kerala where Amala Paul was brought up.
Anoop Menon – Shema Alexander
Malayalam actor and scenarist Anoop Menon tied the knot with his long time friend Shema on 27 December. The wedding took place at 7.30 am at the actor's home in the presence of close friends and family members. The wedding was a low-key affair; the actor had earlier announced that he will donate the wedding money to cancer patients.
The couple had announced that it does not make sense to spend money on a feast and they would instead prefer to donate it to the needy.
Meera Jasmine - Anil Joh Titus
Meera Jasmine got married to Dubai-based software engineer Anil John Titus on 12 February. The ceremony was held at the LMS Church near Palayam in Trivandrum.
The wedding was held amid tight security, as Meera's husband Anil John feared that that his first wife and parents would create trouble, even though he had divorced his first wife legally.To avoid trouble, the couple had a hasty register marriage on 19 February and later, in a traditional way.
Vinay Forrt – Soumya Ravi
Actor Vinay Forrt, who is one of the most talented actors in M-town, got married to his long-time girlfriend, Soumya Ravi on 6 December.
The couple, who had known each other for three years, had a traditional wedding at the famous Guruvayur Temple in the presence of close family and friends.
The actor met Soumya when he visited her college for a play. Once the couple were sure about their commitment towards each other, they opened up about it to their families and finailsed their marriage plans.
The couple later had a star studded reception in Kochi.
