After releasing teaser and the trailer of "Theri," the makers have come up with one more video for Vijay's fans. They released Tuesday, April 5, a video detailing the making of the upcoming Tamil movie.
Stretching a little over a minute, the video gives a glimpse behind the scenes of the film. Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Samantha, Amy Jackson, Nainika, Atlee Kumar and many others are seen in the video clip.
The teaser and the trailer of "Theri" had met with fantastic response from viewers. The teaser was released Feb. 5 and garnered over 1 crore hits on YouTube. It was the second Tamil movie to reach this feat after Chiyaan Vikram-starrer "I." The video also holds the record for the highest number of "likes" for a Tamil film — 2.97 lakh — besides more than 55,000 "dislikes" so far.
The trailer was released March 20 and has over 72 lakh hits on YouTube. It has garnered above 2.2 lakh likes and 18,000+ dislikes. It remains to be seen whether the making video will get such a response from cine-goers.
Meanwhile, producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu is getting ready to sell the key Chengalpet theatrical rights to a Mumbai distributor. Journalist Sreedhar Pillai tweeted: "#Theri Chengalpet, highest collecting center in TN deal almost finalized with a Mumbai distributor who will market it through @SPIcinemas. [sic]"
The producer has already sold the major theatrical rights of "Theri." But the rights of some key regions are still with the producer and he is negotiating the price with many parties.
Atlee Kumar-directed "Theri" is billed as an action thriller in which Vijay has donned multiple avatars. He has paired up with leading heroines like Samantha, who had romanced the actor in the blockbuster "Kaththi," and Amy Jackson.
"Theri" will have a solo release April 14.
