Varun Dhawan starrer "Main Tera Hero" has shown an upward trend in its business on its second day at the domestic box office. The action-packed romantic comedy was affected on its opening day, due to the World T20 semifinal between India and South Africa.
But the film picked up on Saturday and increased its earnings by around 25 to 30 percent. It raked in around ₹8.07 crore from its second-day run, as per early estimates. The two-day overall total of the film now stands at ₹14.67 crore.
The David Dhawan directorial should now take its opening weekend total to more than ₹20 crore.
"#MainTeraHero Fri 6.60 cr, Sat 8.07 cr. Total: ₹ 14.67 cr nett. India biz... Excellent growth in biz on Sat," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The collection will go down again on Sunday due to the World T20 final between India and Sri Lanka. But since the match is in the evening, the film should benefit and rake in more from morning and afternoon shows.
The second day income of "Main Tera Hero" was in the same region as Sunny Leone's "Ragini MMS 2". "Main Tera Hero" and "Ragini MMS 2", both produced by Balaji Telefilms, raked in ₹7.3 crore and ₹7.5 crore on the second day respectively.
But the two-day total of Leone's film is much higher than Varun's romantic comedy. The opening weekend total of the horror film will be also higher in comparison.
"Main Tera Hero" also stars Nargis Fakhri, Ileana D'Cruz, Anupam Kher, Arunoday Singh, Raju Kher and Rajpal Yadav in important roles.
