In a major breakthrough regarding the Burdwan blast case, mastermind Sadiq was nabbed by the Kolkata Police on Saturday, a day after the arrest of another suspect Zia-ul-Haque, says NDTV.
Sadiq becomes the first Bangladeshi national to be arrested for the October 2 blast. He is the senior member of a banned terror outfit in his country.
After being arrested by the state police near Kolkata, Sadiq was due to be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Earlier on Friday, according to an NDTV report, Zia-ul-Haque was arrested in connection with the blast for allegedly indoctrinating the youth for training by showing 'Jihadi' videos related to Gujarat and Assam violence.
He was arrested from Masjid Talha in Khagragarh of Burdwan district where he was hiding and was traced by NIA with the help of central security agencies.
