If the latest reports are anything to go by, home-grown UV maker Mahindra & Mahindra is considering the commercialisation of the XUV Aero concept. The XUV Aero concept made its first appearance at the recently concluded Auto Expo in New Delhi.
A report by MotorOctane claims that the Mahindra XUV Aero concept may take at least two years to get into a production-spec model as the company is still weighing up the commercialisation of the model. Mahindra is expected to take a final call on the production of the new Aero XUV in the next couple of months.
The XUV Aero coupe SUV concept has been conceptualised and designed at Mahindra's Design studio in Mumbai, with inputs from its Italian design firm Pininfarina. It was reported earlier that the Aero XUV, which is likely to be a reality in the Indian market in the not so distant future, would sit above the company's current lineup and is likely to be priced around Rs 20 lakh.
From the Aero XUV coupe concept that was shown at the auto Expo 2016, the coupe SUV boasts an aggressive stance with bold graphics and headlights with LED DRLs and features prominent shoulder lines. Powering the Aero XUV is Mahindra's 2.2-litre mHawk engine, which can dish out 210bhp of power. The XUV Aero concept comes with drive and suspension modes -- Race, Off-Road, Street and Sport.
