If emerging reports in the media are to be believed, Mahindra Electric is reportedly considering making its XUV Aero concept an electric version as the company seeks to include high-end electric models in its line-up. Mahindra's flashy XUV Aero coupe SUV was first premiered at the Auto Expo 2016 before making a short appearance at the Automobile Barcelona 2017 recently.
AutocarIndia reports that the Pawan Goenka, managing director, Mahindra & Mahindra and chairman, Mahindra Electric has hinted at the development of a high-end electric models and the company is studying the possibility of turning the XUV Aero to an electric model. Goenka, stressing the company's plans to have a high-end electric car said, "It could be the new product that we have talked about with Pininfarina, it could be the Aero but we will have one, maybe two high electric vehicle SUVs," as quoted by ACI.
While little else is known about the technical details of the Mahindra XUV Aero electric SUV, the reports suggest that the electric SUV could come equipped with a 380V system with a range of 300 km –400 km.
Mahindra XUV Aero coupe SUV, the concept that has been conceptualised and designed at Mahindra's Design studio in Mumbai, with inputs from its Italian design firm Pininfarina was showcased with 2.2-litre mHawk engine under the bonnet, which can dish out 210bhp of power. It boasts an aggressive stance with bold graphics and headlights with LED DRLs and features prominent shoulder lines and is speculated to make it to the production line by 2018.
