Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. is reportedly planning to unveil the much awaited premium motorcycle, Mojo 300, ahead of the festive season. According to international motorcycle news website visordown, Mahindra will finally reveal the details of its production-ready bike by the end of August.
Mahindra Mojo 300 is likely to draw power from a 296cc liquid cooled, 4-stroke single-cylinder engine that can churn out power of 27bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque 25Nm at 6,500rpm, and is likely to come mated to a six-speed transmission.
The features expected in Mojo include LED daytime-running lights and a new fuel tank. Most importantly, the bike is likely to flaunt USD (Up Side Down) forks and twin mufflers. The Mojo is also expected get Pirelli Sport Demon tyres mounted on Y-spoke black alloy wheels. The motorcycle will also feature LED tail-lights. The stopping power of the bike is likely to come from the disc brakes seen on both front and rear wheels.
Expected to be priced around Rs 2 lakh, Mahindra Mojo 300 will take on the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300R, Honda CBR 250R/300R and KTM Duke when launched in India.
Mahindra first showcased the Mojo prototype at the 2010 Auto Expo. Since then, the company has been working towards bringing the final product to India. Considering that it's taken more than 5 years in developing, auto lovers have high expectations from the Mojo.
