UV maker Mahindra's recently launched - 'toughest' SUV TUV300 - has outnumbered the sales of its already settled rival Ford EcoSport in the first month.
Mahindra TUV300, the model which has managed to notch the second position in its segment in terms of sales in the first month of its launch, sold 4,313 units in September as against 3,142 units of Ford EcoSport, reports CarTrade.
While the Mahindra TUV300 became the second top selling SUV in the month of September, Hyundai Creta continues to retain the top position, with sales at 7,000 units.
Priced in the range of Rs 6.9 lakh and Rs 9.12 lakh, the Mahindra TUV300 is the first SUV in India to come equipped with AMT gearbox. The TUV300 compact SUV, which is a battle tank-inspired, sub-four metre model, is powered by 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, mHawk80 diesel engine which is tuned to churn out 84bhp power and 230Nm torque. The engine comes paired to either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
The Mahindra TUV300 is offered in three variants - TUV300 T4, TV300 T6 and TUV300 T8 and is available in six body colour options - red, black, orange, silver, blue and white.
