Mahindra TUV300 is reportedly getting a new powerful engine under the hood. A report on AutoCar India says the sub-four-metre TUV300 would get the company's newly launched NuvoSport's engine soon.
Mahindra TUV300 is currently being offered with 1.5-litre three-cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine, which is tuned to churn out 84bhp power and 230Nm torque. The engine comes paired to either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The new engine would be the mHawk100, which can develop 100bhp of power and 240Nm of peak torque. According to the report, the overwhelming responses for the TUV300 could be one of the reasons for updating the engine of the model.
Launched in September last year, Mahindra TUV300 has been witnessing great demand in the country, and the company has increased its production to meet demand. Mahindra TUV300 is offered in three variants — TUV300 T4, TV300 T6 and TUV300 T8. The SUV is available in six body colour options — red, black, orange, silver, blue and white. The NuvoSport and the TUV300 are the two compact SUVs of Mahindra to come equipped with automated manual transmission (AMT).
Mahindra launched the NuvoSport in India on April 4. In NuvoSport the transmission is taken care of by a five-speed manual gearbox and the mid and top variants offered with AMT. The engine gets two drive modes — Power and Economy and the same are also likely to come in the TV300 now.
