Mahindra & Mahindra launched its compact SUV, the TUV300, on 10 September and it helped the company to do better in this year's festive season. Reports indicates 20% growth in October and 21% in November 2015 compared to the same duration in 2014.
It is clear that the TUV300 was instrumental in higher sales for the company. In a chat with ET Now, Pravin Shah, President & CEO, Automotive, M&M, has said bookings for the TUV300 have now crossed the 16,000-mark. The company has already delivered around 12,700 units of the SUV by the start of December.
The company is currently in the process of increasing the production of the compact SUV. The AMT variant continues to be in great demand. "We will be launching a couple of new products before the end of this financial year," said Shah.
The TUV300 with automated manual transmission (AMT) is offered in T6+ and T8+ variants with a price tag of Rs 8.60 lakh and 9.20 lakh, respectively, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The TUV300 compact SUV, the battle-tank-inspired sub-four-metre model, is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine which is tuned to churn out 84bhp power and 230Nm torque. The engine comes paired to either a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT gearbox.
Priced in the range of Rs 6.9-9.12 lakh, Mahindra TUV300 is offered in three variants — TUV300 T4, TV300 T6 and TUV300 T8. The SUV is available in six body colour options: red, black, orange, silver, blue and white.
