Mahindra & Mahindra's new battle-tank-inspired compact SUV TUV300 seems to be getting an outstanding response across the country. The SUV, which outsold its rival, the Ford EcoSport, in September emulated the feat in October as well.
Sales of new Mahindra TUV300 surpassed Ford's popular EcoSport for the second consecutive month since its entry into the domestic market in September. The Mahindra TUV300 clocked sales of 4,551 units in October as against 3,417 units of the EcoSport, reported ET Auto. In September, the TUV300 had sold 4,313 units against 3,142 units of the EcoSport.
Priced in the Rs 6.9-9.12 lakh range, the Mahindra TUV300 is the first SUV in India to come equipped with an AMT gearbox. The compact SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, mHawk80 diesel engine tuned to churn out 84bhp and 230Nm torque. The engine comes paired with either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
The Mahindra TUV300 is offered in three variants — TUV300 T4, TV300 T6 and TUV300 T8 — and is available in six body colour options — red, black, orange, silver, blue and white.
