UV maker Mahindra and Mahindra sold 11,500 vehicles in the domestic market on Dhanteras (9 November).
Danteras is considered auspicious for buying new products and precious metals. With the company's newly launched TUV300 and other UVs XUV500, Scorpio and Bolero, the single-day-sales on Dhanteras saw the company recording a 70% increase compared to Dhanteras sales last year. The company said that the Hindi belt that including the states of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan helped Mahindra to post good sales.
Speaking to CNBC –TV18, Pravin Shah, Pres & Chief Exec-Automotive, M&M said Mahindra's newly launched TUV300 has been getting good response. "The TUV 300 which we just launched in the month of September has really sold out. It is a stock-out situation at the market place. We also have the healthy booking of TUV 300," Shah said.
In October, Mahindra & Mahindra reported a growth of 20% at 51,383 units over October 2014. The company sold 51,383 units (passenger vehicles 24,060 units, commercial vehicles 18,756 units, three wheelers 5,999 units and exports 2,568) in October 2015 as against 42,780 units (passenger vehicles 20,255 units, commercial vehicles 14,345 units, three wheelers 5,678 and exports 2,502 units) sold during October 2014.
