After almost a year, Mahindra has decided to unleash the long-rumoured automatic variant of its popular SUV Scorpio.
The new variant has reached dealer showrooms and the on-road pricing for the Scorpio AT 2WD and Scorpio AT 4WD has been revealed by top dealers.
Sources say the automatic gearbox has only been offered in the high-end S10 variant and the pricing details are as follows:
- Mahindra Scorpio S10 2WD AT – Rs 15.49 lakh (on-road Mumbai)
- Mahindra Scorpio S10 4WD AT – Rs 16.92 lakh (on-road Mumbai)
According to Indian Autos Blog, deliveries for the Mahindra Scorpio AT variant are promised in the next 45 days.
The bookings for the unannounced SUV variant are open for a pre-booking amount of Rs. 5 lakh. Mahindra is yet to officially make the announcement, which is expected anytime.
The pricing of the Mahindra Scorpio S10 2WD AT and Mahindra Scorpio S10 4WD AT suggests the automatic gearbox and rear-side engraving of the new variant costs an additional Rs 1 lakh.
There are no changes expected under the hood, as the new Scorpio AT will be powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk 4-cylinder diesel engine that pushes 120 horses down the pipes at 4,000rpm and produces 280Nm torque between 1,800 and 2,800 rpm.
Since the automatic gearbox embraces the high-end S10 variant, buyers will get two airbags in the front, ABS, 6-inch infotainment system, steering controls for audio and cruze, automatic climate control, anti-theft features, engine immobilizer, daytime running lamps, projector headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels and five body colours.
