Mahindra has been testing its micro-SUV S101 on Indian roads for quite a while now. Although the company has been silent on the launch date of the new SUV, the general consensus is that Mahindra would take do in January 2016, before the Auto Expo.
As for engine, the S101 is expected to include 1.2 diesel and petrol mills. While the petrol mill of the Mahindra S101 is likely to be an all-new engine developed by the company, the diesel mill could be the watered-down version of 1.5-litre mHawk engine.
The previous spy shots showed the S101 with a rear door design similar to the one in the Chevrolet Beat. The interior of the sub-4-metre micro-SUV is likely get piano-black accent to the centre console with a chrome touch around it, on the AC vents and on the steering wheel.
Based on an all-new monocoque platform, the Mahindra S101, a mini-SUV to rival Maruti's tall-boy WagonR, is expected to be priced at around Rs 4 lakh. Reports doing the rounds on the Internet suggest that the Mahindra S101 will be monikered as XUV100.
