Mahindra's upcoming compact SUV codenamed S101 has been snapped while on test once again, giving the auto lovers yet another look at the model ahead of its launch.
The latest set of spy shots of Mahindra S101 came from Indian Autos Blog reader Aravind R who spotted the car in Chennai. From the images, nothing much has changed from the previous spy shots and the SUV is seen still wearing the camouflage, thus hiding all the key changes from the eyes of auto enthusiasts.
S101, a sub-four metre compact SUV is built on a new monocoque platform and is expected to make its India debut this year. The model is likely to get power from Mahindra's newly-developed engines and is expected to include features like anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, four airbags and electronic stability programme.
Mahindra's new engine line-up includes 1.2 litre diesel and petrol motors, 1.6 litre diesel and petrol units, 1.5-litre diesel and there is also 1.5 litre petrol and a 1.0-litre petrol engine.
Speaking of pricing, Mahindra's new SUV is likely to get a price tag around ₹5 lakh. Other details of the model are scanty at this pint of time.
Besides this, in 2015, Mahindra will also be launching its new generation Bolero codenamed U301 and the facelifted models of its Quanto and XUV500. Mahindra's next-generation Bolero, which is currently in its testing phase in the country is also likely to draw power from the new engines and there have also been rumours that the model will get Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox.
