UV maker Mahindra continues testing its compact SUV S101 in India and the test mule has been caught on camera once again, this time on Pune-Nasik highway.
Mahindra has been testing its S101 SUV on Indian roads for quite a while now. The model has already made numerous appearances on the web through spy pics and the latest spy shots come from Motoroids reader Vaibhav Dhaimodkar.
S101, a sub-four metre compact SUV is tipped to make its India debut this year. Built on a new monocoque platform, the upcoming SUV is expected to get features like anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, four airbags and electronic stability programme.
As for the engines, S101 is speculated to features Mahindra's newly developed engines. Previous reports indicated 1.2 litre petrol engine, which is expected to churn out 80bhp. There have also been rumours that 1.5-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine could also come. The transmission is likely to come from a manual gearbox.
Mahindra's new engine line-up includes 1.2 litre diesel and petrol motors, 1.6 litre diesel and petrol units, 1.5-litre diesel and there is also 1.5 litre petrol and a 1.0-litre petrol engine. Expected to get a price tag in the affordable range, S101 will take on the likes of Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster when launched.
Mahindra is also testing its next generation Bolero and facelift of XUV500 in India.The upcoming Bolero, which is codenamed U301, is expected to come with features like a larger screen infotainment system, newly styled dashboard with a central console, a three-spoke steering wheel and rectangular AC vents. Under the hood, this vehicle is also likely to get new engines of Mahindra.
