Mahindra's upcoming compact SUV S101 has been spied testing yet again in the country, few days after the car was spotted on test in Chennai.

The latest set of spy shots come from Rushlane and like earlier, the new test mule is also seen with heavy camouflage, thus preventing us from getting an idea of what the new Mahindra SUV looks like. Nonetheless, rumours that are swirling around the web suggest that the new S101 will be based on new monocoque platform. There have also been rumours that the new SUV could get slopping roof and features like auto climate-control, steering-mounted buttons for infotainment system. Mahindra's new S101 is also likely to come equipped with safety features like Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, four airbags and Electronic Stability Programme.

Not much has been said about the powerplant of the new SUV offering of Mahindra, but from what we have heard so far the S101 is likely to get power from Mahindra's newly developed 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and 1.5-litre three-cylinder mCR100 unit. The vehicle, which is expected to be a sub four-metre compact SUV is speculated to reach Indian shores in 2015 and once it hits the market the Mahindra new SUV will be competing with Ford EcoSport and upcoming Volkswagen Taigun. Though it is too early to speculate  on the price of the Mahindra new SUV S101, rumours are rife that the car would fall in the ₹5-7 lakh price range.

Apart from this new SUV, Mahindra is also expected to launch a facelift of its Scorpio and next generation Bolero (codenamed U301) in the country. Mahindra Scorpio is rumoured to hit Indian market during this festive season. The vehicle, which has been spied testing in the country numerous times, will sport features like automatic climate control, rectangular design central consoles, AC vents, steering-mounted controls for audio and cruise control. Under the hood, it is expected to pack the same 2.2 liter four cylinder turbocharged mHawk diesel engine, which powers the current model.
