The much-awaited Mahindra and Mahindra compact sports utility vehicle (SUV), Quanto, launched in India on Thursday with a price tag starting with ₹582,000 (ex-showroom Thane).
Quanto, also known as the mini Xylo, is based on the Ingenio platform and is built to satiate the demand of middle-class families for a compact and affordable SUV.

I am confident that the Quanto will create a new category within the SUV segment while offering a unique value proposition to our customers," said Dr Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd in a statement released on the occasion.
Quanto will be available in India in four variants - C2, C4, C6 and C8. The small SUV now sports a new front fascia and is powered by a 1.5 litre mCR100 engine, which is the newest Common Rail Diesel engine in Mahindra's SUV portfolio, the company said in a statement. It also features intellipark reverse assist, 2 DIN music systems with CD, MP3 and USB and packs safety features like dual air bags, ABS with EBD and a high speed warning system. The vehicle has a two-tone granite themed dashboard and has abundant utility spaces like 5 bottle holders and snack trays.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the company claims an excellent 17.2 kilometer per litre with Micro hybrid technology. In India the new Quanto will be available in six colors which include Diamond White, Fiery Black, Toreador Red, Java Brown, Mist Silver and Rocky Beige. The sub-4 metre car comes with a 5+2 seating arrangement. The base model-C2 is priced ₹582,000 lakhs and the top end model C8 is priced ₹736,000.
