If the latest reports on the web are anything to go by, the facelift avatar of Quanto will be called Canto in India.
Mahindra's Quanto is about to get a facelift in India is not a secret anymore. Now, the latest tidbit coming from Team BHP is that the UV maker's new avatar of Quanto will be named Canto. Further, the report says that Mahindra has imported bumpers for a new vehicle called Canto U215, and this could be for the upcoming Quanto. The post also includes a fresh batch of spy shots of Quanto facelift, which shows its new front bumper and interior in detail.
From the images, the interior of the facelifted Quanto looks almost the same as the current model, but with additional features like multi-function steering wheel. As for styling and design, though the test mule is seen completely covered, a closer look can reveal the bumper with new front grille.
Under the hood, new Quanto facelift is expected to be the same 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine, which can pump in 100bhp at 3,750rpm and 240Nm of torque between 1,600-2,800rpm and is likely to get improved suspension and driving dynamics.
Meanwhile, Mahindra has started teasing its XUV500 facelift, which is scheduled to make its market entry on 25 May. The 2015 XUV500 facelift is likely to carry over the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel mill, which currently generates a power of 140bhp at 3,750rpm and a peak torque of 330 Nm at 1,600-2,800rpm.
