Mahindra has just launched its new generation Scorpio SUV in the Indian market.
Now the latest buzz on the Internet is that the company will be bringing an automated manual transmission (AMT) Quanto to the Indian market later this year.
Mahindra gave us an intention to build an AMT Quanto first at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year and now the emerging reports on the web confirm that the SUV is in the works and will take to the roads by the end of this year.
The upcoming Quanto AMT is likely to get the same body design and style of the existing model, but with AMT gearbox.
Mahindra Quanto, the SUV, which failed to live up to the expectations of its maker is expected to get a new lease of life with the upcoming AMT. At this point of time, the details of Quanto AMT are scanty; however, a report of IndianAutosBlog says that the new machine from Mahindra will get a price rag in the range of ₹7.8-₹8.2 lakh.
We already know that Mahindra is also working on the facelift version of Quanto codenamed U215. We are not sure if this new Quanto is the one we saw at the Delhi Auto Expo, but reports suggest that the new facelift will be positioned between the upcoming S101 and the new Bolero.
It is quite a busy year for Mahindra. Apart from the aforementioned SUVs, the company is also prepping compact SUV S101 and a new Bolero. Mahindra S101, which is already on the Indian roads for testing is expected to make its debut in the market next year and is likely to get features like auto climate-control, steering-mounted buttons for infotainment system.
From what we know so far, Mahindra S101 Compact SUV will pack the company's newly developed 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and 1.5-litre three-cylinder mCR100 unit under the hood.
