Mahindra's upcoming light commercial vehicle (LCV) P601 has been spied undergoing testing in India once again ahead of its launch next year.
Recently, Mahindra confirmed that the company will launch its new LCV in the country in 2015 and now the latest spy shots from Rushlane reveals that the company is rigorously testing its new breed on the Indian roads.
To be positioned between Gio and Maxximo, the upcoming LCV of Mahindra is likely to get a payload capacity of 600–750 kg. Judging from the latest images, it looks like the new entrant in the LCV shares a lot of similarities with its Maxximo and Gio.
The images also give a sneak peek at the interiors of the LCV, which show a design similar to the one seen in Maxximo. There seems to be a dashboard mounted gear lever level as well on the menu for P601 LCV.
The previous spy shots of P601 LCV have indicated that the vehicle could have two wheelbases for different payload range. As far as the engine specification is concerned, nothing has been revealed yet; however, going by the rumours, the new LCV is likely to be powered by a modified version of two cylinder 909cc diesel motor or a new diesel engine.
Mahindra, the popular SUV maker will also be launching two compact SUVs –S101 and new generation Bolero in India next year.
Expected to be powered by Mahindra's new engines, which are in the making, both the upcoming SUVs will ride on a new platform.
While S101 is likely to get bench-type seating arrangement at the front, auto climate-control and steering-mounted buttons for infotainment system, the Bolero is expected to accommodate a larger screen infotainment system, newly styled dashboard with a central console, a three-spoke steering wheel and rectangular AC vents.
