The fact that popular UV maker Mahindra is readying a new generation Bolero SUV for the Indian market is perhaps the worst kept secret. Codenamed U301, new generation Bolero was snapped a dozens of times during its test rounds in the country.
Now for the first time, the interiors of the new Bolero have been caught on camera by MotorOctane and one may add the images give us the best look yet at the new model.
The new Bolero SUV seems to have gotten a dual toned black- beige dashboard with a mix of silver and chrome accents on the AC vents and centre console. There are also a new three-spoke steering wheel and music system with Bluetooth, and USB and aux-connectivity on the menu.
The engine specifications of the new Bolero have been closely guarded; however, reports have indicated a 1.5 litre diesel engine, which can churn out 100PS of power and 240Nm of torque. The model is also rumoured to get Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox.
To be offered in two wheel drive version initially, the new Bolero is also likely to include rear AC vents, ABS and dual front airbags. Apparently, Mahindra is also readying 4 wheel drive variant of the same.
Expected to get a price tag around ₹6 lakh, the new Bolero will take on the likes of Chevrolet Tavera and Tata Sumo. The model is likely to reach showrooms by the end of this year.
