Mahindra's new-generation Bolero codenamed U301 has been caught on camera while testing in Chennai. The latest set spy shots come from IndianAutosBlog and this time, not just one, but two test mules of the new generation Bolero have been caught in a single frame.
Auto enthusiasts in the country have already seen numerous spy shots of the same on the web.
As we know already, U301, a sub-four meter SUV will be riding on a hydroformed ladder-frame chassis and is expected to reach the showrooms by the end of 2015 with a price tag in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. As far as the styling and features are concerned, the new Bolero is likely to get a boxy shape and is expected to accommodate a larger screen infotainment system, three-spoke steering wheel and rectangular AC vents.
The engine line-up of the new generation Bolero is likely to include Mahindra's new engines. Mahindra is developing seven new engines to power its future vehicles, which includes 1.2 litre diesel and petrol motors, 1.6 litre diesel and petrol units, and a 1.5-litre diesel and there is also 1.5 litre petrol and a 1.0-litre petrol engine.
Mahindra's upcoming S101 compact SUV will also get power from the new engines. Mahindra S101, which is also a sub-four metre vehicle, is expected to make its debut in 2015. As for features, expect it to feature anti-lock-braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, four airbags, and an electronic stability programme.
