Mahindra and Mahindra Limited has launched DiGiSENSE, an integrated technology platform that connects the Mumbai-based automobile manufacturer's cars, trucks, tractors and construction equipments for cloud computing.
Mahindra claims that it is the first time an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India has integrated its product line-up onto a cloud-based technology platform. The technology aids owners, fleet operators, dealers and service teams to access information on a real time basis. It also allows drivers to contact emergency breakdown services or pull up a route planner.
Fleet owners and dealers can track the location of their vehicles in real time, while remote diagnostics and reports allow service teams to monitor the vehicle's condition, a company statement said.
DiGiSENSE will initially be available in Jeeto and Imperio in small commercial vehicles, Arjun Novo in tractors, Blazo in heavy commercial vehicles and Earthmaster in the construction equipment space. The service will be based on subscription.
"At Mahindra, we regularly challenge conventional thinking and create disruptions. The launch of DiGiSENSE 1.0 is one such effort to adopt technology to develop new ecosystems. It is the first of its kind technology platform which is multi-application and multi-product enabled. From providing real time data, to tracking performance and productivity of the vehicles, DiGiSENSE will enable customers to control their businesses," said Dr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra and Mahindra.
