It looks like UV-maker Mahindra has got it right with its new mini-SUV KUV100 in India. If the emerging reports are anything to go by, KUV100, which debuted in India on 15 January, currently has a waiting period of up to eight weeks in some cities, depending on the variants.
A report of Auto Car India revealed the waiting period of both petrol and diesel variants of KUV100 has increased gradually in the country, and models with sliver and white paint jobs command a waiting period of up to eight weeks. The report added that top-end variants like the K6 and K8 are witnessing more demand than the base variants K2 and K2+. It was reported earlier that Mahindra aims to sell 80,000-90,000 units of KUV100 annually, with an average projection of 7,000 units of the model per month from April this year. The company currently has production capacity of 9,000 units at its Chakan plant in Maharashtra, which will be increased to 12,000 units later.
Mahindra has tied up with online retailer Flipkart to sell its latest SUV KUV100 over the Internet. The KUV100 can also be bought online trough CarNbike.com and M2all. Mahindra KUV100, the new sub-compact SUV, has price tags starting from Rs 4.42 lakh (ex showroom Pune). Offered in four variants — K2, K4, K6 and K8 — and three sub-variants — K2+, K4+ and K6+ — the KUV100 comes in seven exciting colours — Fiery Orange, Flamboyant Red, Dazzling Silver, Aquamarine, Pearl White, Designer Grey and Midnight Black.
