It appears like Mahindra KUV100 has struck a chord with the Indian auto lovers. A recent report of the Economic Times says that the mini-SUV from the house of popular UV-maker Mahindra & Mahindra has bagged over 37,000 bookings so far since its unveiling in November last year.
Mahindra KUV100 was launched in the country in January. The compact SUV was open for bookings through the dealers and online retailers like Flipkart and Mahindra's online selling platform M2ALL from Dec.19, 2015, and has received overwhelming response since then. Earlier reports suggested that due to the increasing demand for the KUV100, Mahindra is planning to ramp up the production of the KUV100 to 12,000 units from the current production capacity of 9,000 units at its Chakan plant in Maharashtra.
Priced between Rs. 4.42 lakh and Rs 6.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), the KUV100 is offered in four variants — K2, K4, K6 and K8 — and three sub-variants — K2+, K4+ and K6+. The KUV100 comes in seven colours — fiery orange, flamboyant red, dazzling silver, aquamarine, pearl white, designer grey and midnight black.
The KUV100 packs Mahindra's new mFalcon engines under the hood. While the petrol 1.2-litre mFalcon G80 engine is tuned to churn out 82bhp and 114Nm, the 1.2-litre mFalcon D75 diesel engine can develop 77bhp and a peak torque of 190Nm. Both the engines come mated to five-speed manual gearbox.
