Mahindra and its bestselling SUV, the Bolero, regained the top-selling SUV spot from Hyundai Creta in September. Bolero was trailing the higher sales of Creta in July and August. According to the latest data from Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Mahindra's workhorse retained the numero uno position for the second month in a row through October sales.
Mahindra sold 7,754 units of Bolero in October to reach the top spot. However, sales saw a drop of 15% compared to the 9,090 units sold in October 2014. Creta retained its second position with 7,225 units sold in October. Hyundai's new compact SUV has been receiving good response, and after five months of its entry into the market, Hyundai has sold over 30,000 units of Creta.
Maruti Suzuki Innova, with its latest facelift, jumped in the table to the third spot from the ninth in September 2015. Maruti Suzuki sold 5,832 units of Ertiga, registering 16% growth.
Toyota Innova came in the fourth spot with 5,724 unit sales and registered a growth of 11%. The fifth, sixth and seventh spots were taken sealed by Mahindra. The Scorpio with 4,719 unit sales was at the fifth place, the TUV300 with 4,551 unit sales was sixth and the XUV500 seventh with 3964 units of sale.
Ford EcoSport stepped down from the seventh place in September to eighth place in October 2015, with 3,417 units sold. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross was at the ninth place with 3,017 units sold. Renault's Duster, which wasn't part of top-10 list in September, reentered the list with a sale of 1,727 units.
