The facelifted avatar of Mahindra XUV is expected to reach Indian showrooms in the next couple of months and the company is busy putting the new avatar of its SUV through final tests in the country.

The XUV500 facelift has been caught on camera once again, this time by a Motor Vikatan reader. In the images, the front part of the test mule is seen covered and as we know, the front end of the model is expected to accommodate most of the changes in the facelifted avatar of XUV 500.

Typically, the changes in the faclifted model are limited to visual modifications and in the new XUV500 too it is likely to be the same. The front fascia of XUV500 is expected to include new bumper with re-worked headlights and front grille. Other changes expected include chrome line for tail lamps, chrome handles for the door and new alloy wheels.

Under the hood, XUV 500 facelift is likely to carry over the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel mill, which currently generates a power of 140 bhp at 3,750 rpm and a peak torque of 330 Nm at 1,600-2,800 rpm in its new avatar too. There have also been rumours about the automatic variant of XUV500. However, it has not been confirmed as yet.

Mahindra XUV500 facelift, which will rival Tata Safari Storme and Renault Duster in India, is likely o get a price tag slightly higher than the current version in the market.
