Work on Mahindra's rumoured 155cc commuter motorcycle seems to be progressing rapidly. While the upcoming Mahindra motorcycle had been kept in news constantly by several rumours, no solid evidence had surfaced until now. However, industry watchers will eagerly scan the latest spy shots of the early test mule of the 155cc that have emerged online, indicating that the bike is getting ready for launch.
Motor buffs at ThrustZone have shared a set of images of what is likely the Mahindra 155cc commuter motorcycle. From the pictures, the bike seems to be in its early stages of development.
It shows round a headlamp and long seat with luggage carrier at the rear. According to the original publisher of the photograph, the bike is likely to get 155cc engine, which is expected to generate around 15bhp of power.
It may get telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic shocks at the rear. The bike seems to have taken design cues for its sibling, the Centuro. Other details of the motorcycle are scanty at this point of time.
Mahindra is looking to expand its reach in the Indian market with new two-wheeler offerings. The company currently sells two bikes — Centuro and Mojo — and three scooters — Gusto (Gusto 110 and Gusto 125), Rodeo UZo125 and Duro SZ. Mahindra Two Wheelers achieved the milestone of selling 10 lakh units in India in June this year.
