The actor took some time off from his busy schedule of Maharshi and watched the movie with his family on its opening day and he was impressed with the depiction of NTR's life.
Soon after watching it, Mahesh Babu took to his Twitter account to share his review on NTR Kathanayakudu. He tweeted, "Surreal & large... @DirKrish has painted the canvas with an out of the world experience Balakrishna garu has gone into the skin of #NTR garu's character and LIVED EVERY BIT OF IT All the characters penned & portrayed are 100% true to life. Brilliant."
Mahesh Babu added, "#NTRKathanayakudu is undoubtedly the best tribute one could have ever given to the LEGEND of Telugu cinema, NT Rama Rao garuIf there's going to be anything better than #NTRKathanayakudu, it's going to be #NTRMahanayakudu. Looking forward already. Congratulations to the entire team."
Balakrishna has played his late father, legendary actor and former CM of Andhra Pradesh NTR Rama Rao, in NTR Kathanayakudu, while Vidya Balan appears as his wife. The movie features an ensemble cast of Kalyan Ram, Rana Daggubati, Sumanth, Rakul Preet Singh, Nithya Menen, Pranitha, Shriya Saran, Hansika Motwani, Shalini Pandey and Manjima Mohan.
It should be mentioned here that Mahesh Babu was rumoured to play the role of his father Krishna in the NTR biopic. It was reported that Balakrishna had personally spoken to Prince over the phone and asked him to play this role. The film unit completed its shoot in the last week of October and canning of the episodes of NTR and Krishna's bonding were pending. But there was no further update on this.
