Director AR Murugadoss has denied reports that he has zeroed in on the title "Vasco Da Gama" for his next with Mahesh Babu. While the filmmaker has told Behindwoods that "Vasco Da Gama" is not the title of his next film, he has also not given any hint about the actual name of the film.
It is not the first time where rumours on the title of the movie are doing the rounds. It was speculated earlier that the makers had finalised the title "Enemy." But the director had denied that too.
Meanwhile, the movie, which was supposed to begin on July 15 with a formal pooja in Hyderabad, is said to have been delayed by two weeks. The reason apparently is that work on the looks of Mahesh Babu is taking more time than expected.
This is the first time that Mahesh Babu and AR Murugadoss are teaming up for a film. The actor's long-time dream of working in a Tamil movie is finally coming true with this movie, as it will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu.
The movie, which is popularly referred to as "Mahesh 23" by fans, reportedly stars Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra in the female lead role. The makers have also signed up Santhosh Sivan and Harris Jayaraj to handle cinematography and music, respectively.
Jayaraj has already started working on the project and has already completed composing two songs for the film. "@Jharrisjayaraj has also already recorded 2 tracks for the #MaheshBabu @ARMurugadoss biggie.. #Mahesh23, [sic],"journalist Kaushik LM had tweeted.
Supergood Movies is bankrolling the project, which is reportedly being made with a budget of Rs. 100 crore.
