Latest reports suggest that Telugu actor Allu Arjun's upcoming film "Race Gurram" might clash with Mahesh Babu's "One -Nenokkadine" during Sankranti next year.
Mahesh Babu's "One" will reportedly release on 10 January next year, while Allu Arjun's "Race Gurram" is slated to hit the screens three days later on 14 January, the film's producer Nallamalapu Bujji confirmed the news with The Times of India.
Sankranti has proven lucky for Mahesh Babu, considering the fact that his past films - "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" ("SVSC") and "Businessman" - were released during the festive season and turned out to be blockbusters.
In the past, Mahesh's films have clashed with other big-budget Telugu flicks during the festive season. His "Business Man" clashed with Venkatesh's "Bodyguard", whereas his "SVSC" battled it out with Ram Charan's "Naayak." All four films were commercially successful, despite facing strong competition from each other. Hence, the Sankranti festival can accommodate the two January releases.
During Sankranti 2014, a big showdown is expected between Mahesh and Allu Arjun.
Directed by Sukumar, "One - Nenokkadine" is deemed as a psychological thriller starring Mahesh, debutant Kriti Sanon, Kelly Dorji, Nassar, Pradeep Rawat and Sayaji Shinde. The film's post-production work will begin in full swing after the on-going schedule in Bangkok.
Allu Arjun's "Race Gurram" is a full-fledged family entertainer directed by Surender Reddy. According to reports, 60 percent of the film's shooting has been completed and its new schedule commenced from 5 October in Hyderabad. The film has Shruti Haasan in the lead role and also model-turned-actress Saloni as the second lead.
