Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru, who co-directed the recently released "Go Goa Gone", are interested in casting actor Mahesh Babu in their Telugu film.
According to reports, the filmmakers have offered the script to Mahesh and the actor is yet to decide on whether to take up the project. Buzz is that the film will be an action-comedy entertainer.
"Yes, we are interested to work with Mahesh in a straight Telugu film. We have narrated the story to him and we are waiting to hear from him. This is all what I can reveal at the moment. We have to wait for more development on this," Krishna told Indo-Asian News Service.
The director duo is known to make critically acclaimed films like "Shor in the City". Their latest Bollywood flick "Go Goa Gone", a zom-com entertainer, has been running to packed houses in theatres.
When the award-winning filmmakers were asked as to why they chose Mahesh Babu, Krishna said, "Why not Mahesh? He is a great actor and we want to make different kind of commercial film with him for a larger audience."
It is yet to be seen if the actor would accept the film. Mahesh is currently busy shooting for his forthcoming flick directed by Sukumar. He is expected to show his six pack abs in the flick. The actor will go shirtless for the first time flaunting his physique. He has been undergoing training with world renowned trainer - Kris Gethin.
According to a report in The Times of India, a major part of the untitled film will be shot in London after which the shooting will come to an end. Kriti Sanon, a model, plays the female lead. The film's score is composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
Besides the Sukumar-directed film, Mahesh Babu also has Sreenu Vaitla film in the pipeline. The actor-director duo gave a mass hit "Dookudu" which was released in 2011. Vaitla continued his success streak with "Baadshah" starring Jr NTR and Kajal Aggarwal. Mahesh gave voice over in the first part of the film to introduce the characters. Expectations are high for the new Mahesh-Vaitla film which is reportedly titled "Aagadu".
