If the latest reports are to be believed, Mahesh Babu will be teaming up with director Puri Jagannadh for the third time after "Pokiri" and "Businessman."
Last year, there were reports claiming that Mahesh will be doing a film titled "Tapori" with Puri. But, there was no official announcement regarding the project.
Mahesh completed his other projects, including Sukumar's "1 Nenokkadine" and Srinu Vaitla's "Aagadu". The actor is currently working with director Koratala Siva of "Mirchi" fame for a new film.
On the other hand, Puri worked with Nithiin for the romantic entertainer "Heart Attack". He is now busy with Jr NTR starrer, tentatively titled as "Nenorakam". The first schedule of this film is completed, while the second schedule will commence from 26 September.
Now, reports are re-surfacing that the director will be joining hands with Mahesh for a new film. It is expected to go on floors only after the actor and the director complete their respective projects.
The buzz is that Ashwini Dutt will be producing the film under the banner of Vyjayanthi movies, reported Indiaglitz. However, an official confirmation regarding the project is still awaited.
There will be huge expectations for the Mahesh-Puri film as their past releases have turned out to be huge hits at the box office.
Mahesh is currently going through a lean phase with his films failing to set the cash registers ringing. The actor's "1 Nenokkadine" was critically-acclaimed but the psychological thriller did not impress the audience due to the lack of entertainment quotient.
His recently released "Aagadu" had huge expectations as the actor had teamed up with "Dookudu" director Srinu Vaitla for the second time. The film was a typical commercial entertainer with lots of action and comedy. It took a grand opening on the first day, but its collections seem to have dipped since the second day. It will be interesting to see whether the film manages to pick up on its second weekend.
The film has Tamannaah playing the lead opposite Mahesh for the first time. Sonu Sood appears as the baddie, while Brahmanandam provides comic relief. Shruti Haasan has done an item number along with Mahesh.
The film's music is composed by Thaman and it is his 50th project. The action entertainer is produced by 14 Reels Entertainment.
