Actress Namrata Shirodkar welcomed her second child with husband Mahesh Babu on Friday, July 20, at a private nursing home in Hyderabad.
The couple is blessed with a healthy baby girl. Both mother and daughter are said to be doing fine and are likely to be discharged from the hospital in a day or two. The couple is extremely excited and blissful with the new addition in the family.
She was admitted to Somajiguda's Swapna Nursing Home on Thursday night and had a normal delivery in the next morning. Her husband Mahesh Babu was by her side during the delivery.
According to the Times of India Report, the actress will bank her baby's stem cells to spread alertness about the use of stem cell banking and making them aware of the stem cell technology.
"It is a safeguard against diseases. And the fact that many celebrities are also doing so is an indication of the growth of knowledge and how high awareness levels are," she had said in an interview to the daily.
About her motherhood experience, she said, "It is also very humbling," she says. "Every woman deserves to go through it once to understand its beauty."
Talking about her comeback plans in Bollywood, she told the daily, "I don't plan my life... as of now, I have no time at all. Mahesh has his hands full with all his work and since I handle some of his production, I am very busy too."
The former Miss India and later model-turned-actress, Shirodkar was seen in films like "Pukar", "Vaastav" and "Hathyar" along with several other south Indian films.
She also played the role of Aishwarya Rai's sister in director Gurinder Chadha's romantic musical film "Bride and Prejudice".
The 40-year-old actress married Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu after dating for five years and have a six-year-old son, Gautam Krishna, besides the newborn girl.
The duo acted together in Telugu blockbuster film "Vamsi" in 2000.
