On 21 April, Sukanya further tweeted about working with Mahesh Babu. She wrote, "Sharing a 'Good news' with the Super-Hero Mahesh Babu! A cool person to work with. Also very caring. Was waiting to hear it.Woman proposes God disposes. What a relief! No words to express how happy I am.⏰."
Written and directed by Koratala Siva, "Srimanthudu" is commercial entertainer, which features Mahesh Babu as an NRI. Jagapathi Babu appears as Prince's father in the movie. Initially, the names of several yesteryear actresses including Nadhiya and Gracy Singh were considered for the role of Mahesh's mother in the film. But in January the producers finally zeroed in on Sukanya for the role of Mahesh Babu's mother.
Jagapathi Babu and Sukanya had previous played the lead roles in 1992 film "Peddarikam", which was a super hit at the box office. The sparkling chemistry between the two was one of the key factors for its success. Hence, the makers roped her for this film.
However, Sukanya, who is a Bharatanatyam danseuse, seems to have completed shooting for "Srimanthudu" and has gone on to rehearse for stage performance. She posted some photos of herself during the rehearsal and tweeted, "Rehearsing for the upcoming performance on 28th April at Nagerkovil Sri Krishna Temple."
