Director Puri Jagannadh has roped in "Mahabharat" actor Thakur Anoop Singh for the role of a baddie in his upcoming movie "Rogue," which would be simultaneously made in Telugu and Kannada.
Puri Jagannadh had reportedly planned to cast actor Sonu Sood for the role of villain in "Rogue." But the actor rejected his offer, as he is busy with the shooting of Jackie Chan's Hollywood movie "Kung Fu Yoga." Later, the director approached Thakur Anoop Singh, who lapped up the offer.
Thakur Anoop is all thrilled over getting Puri's offer. "In 2014, I was in Hyderabad trying my luck in Tollywood. I had gone to see the shooting of Puri Sir's "Temper," and was stunned when I saw him for the first time. Today, two years later, I'm working with the man I've always admired and that too, at the same location. That's destiny," Hyderabad Times quoted the "Mahabharat" star as saying.
Thakur Anoop Singh is a pilot by profession, but he started his career as a model. He made his acting debut with TV fiction show "Mahabharat," which featured him as blind king Dhritarashtra. Later, he was also a part of shows like "Jai Bajrang Bali," and "Ramayan." He was last seen in Big Magic's Akbar Birbal.
Anoop is seen playing a psychotic lover obsessed with the heroine in "Rogue," which features Ishan and Mannara Chopra in the lead roles. "While playing Dhritarashtra, I had a 34inch waist and today I'm 27", although this transformation was actually for Mr World. When Puri Sir saw me, he asked me to retain the look," the actor said.
